RELEASE OF NEW DISCUSSION PAPER ON THE IMPACT OF FINANCIAL INEQUALITY

Australia21 has released a new discussion paper “Unfair economic arrangements make us sick. How should Australia respond to the expanding financial inequities among its citizens?” as background for a roundtable discussion on 31 January 2014.

Financial inequity is one of the biggest social, economic and political challenges of our time according to highly respected international and national economists. It is also a major cause of poor physical health and mental wellbeing within nations including Australia. At the same time, the wellbeing of a nation influences its productive capacity and therefore its economic stability.
