The Committee for Melbourne organised a Melbourne Infrastructure Breakfast on Tuesday, 28 March, 2006. Speakers were Em Professor Bob Douglas AO, Board Chair, Australia 21, Professor Ross Buckley, Australia 21 Fellow and Program Leader and Dr Steven Cork, Australia 21 Fellow and Program Leader.
The Victorian Government in December 2005 agreed to partner Australia 21 on its Australians in the Landscape Program, as part of its own exploration of ways of achieving deep cuts in CO2 emissions. (see Energy Futures Program on this website).
Precipices and Tipping points to a Sustainable Future. The Australia 21 program on “Tipping points to a sustainable future” met in December 2005 and agreed to produce in early 2006 an overview of current understanding of tipping points in large social and environmental systems.
