Background to the Program

This research network grew from a roundtable conference at the University of Melbourne in August, 2004 on "New Frameworks for Thinking about Australia in Its Region." The ideas that underpin this research network were developed from the work of this roundtable. After the roundtable a steering group was formed and Professor Ross Buckley appointed to lead it.
