What happens next will depend on the response to our second report. It might involve developing a policy or program to incorporate the narrative process into education, or the making of a documentary. It could mean going back to first project to pick up and develop other matters that emerged, such as consumerism, individualism, spirituality, or values.
One of the strengths of these projects is their open ended-ness and the
recognition that the researchers need to be able to respond to the opportunities
and
surprises that arise as the projects proceed. This is what happened with
the first project. Some of its outcomes could not have been planned or
anticipated. Serendipity and novelty lie at the heart of good science.
